What is the price and how do I use these products?

Each product will have its pricing and general instructions listed in its product description! Do you offer wholesale pricing?

Yes! We offer wholesale and bulk pricing on many of our products. You can find the majority of these options listed on our Bundle & Save page. For inquiries regarding other products, please contact us at Info@SolarColorDust.com.

 

How much pigment do I need for my project?

Each product description has a recommended mix ratio and general instructions, but this can vary depending on your project.

 

How long does SolarColorDust continue to change color?

SolarColorDust® is a photochromic pigment and changes color in sunlight or in UV Blacklight. The color changing effect time varies with each color.  After taken out of direct sunlight or UV blacklight, it changes back to the original color and can be used over and over again.  Exposure to direct sunlight for a lengthy period of time will damage the pigment with sunburn causing it to lose its color changing ability. 

 

Can I mix Thermal Dust in clear nail polish?

Yes, you can mix Thermal Dust in clear nail polish to achieve color changing polish!  Be aware that in some polishes the pigment can start to degrade after a week when mixed in the solution. Not all brands of polish will work. Be sure to run testing on the brand you use to determine its shelf life when mixed, prior to selling the polish pre-mixed.

 

Are these products safe to handle?

While our pigments are non-toxic and no harmful effects are anticipated to the touch, we recommend wearing protective clothing to prevent direct contact.  If direct contact should occur, thoroughly wash the exposed areas with soap and water.  Keep away from mouth, eyes, and nose.

 

Can these pigments be used in makeup?

Our pigments can be used for a wide variety of projects, but we always recommend keeping them away from eyes, nose, and mouth. Because we do not know how each individual may react to it being applied directly to the skin, we cannot recommend it for this use.

 

I placed orders from both SolarColorDust.com and GlitterHippo.com - Can I combine these orders to only be charged one shipping fee?

SolarColorDust.com and GlitterHippo.com orders are currently not able to be combined.

 

When will I receive my order?

Orders are generally processed and shipped within 24 hours of the order being placed. When choosing your shipping option at checkout, please keep in mind that the provided shipping time is an estimation provided by USPS. Unfortunately, USPS has been experiencing unusual delays due to the pandemic, so these shipping times are not guaranteed. Tracking Numbers are provided once the shipping label has been created and can be found in your Shipping Email as well as your Customer Account. 

 

Will you have any additional colors in the future?

Our variety of colors is constantly expanding! Please, check the website to see what new color options have recently been added. Custom colors are not available at this time.

 

Do you offer free samples?

We do not offer free samples other than what is included in the Goodie Bags that are shipped with each order, but Sample Packs are available for purchase through the website! Please, follow us on Social Media to stay up-to-date on any promotions we offer.

 

How will my order be sent to me?

SolarColorDust.com ships with USPS. Shipping is calculated by weight and destination. Within the United States, orders can arrive within 2-5 business days. International orders can be delivered within 7-20 business days, not including possible delays by Customs, taxes and duties, or interruptions in transit due to the pandemic. Do you accept returns?

In the unlikely event you have a problem with your order in which we have error’d, contact us within 3 days of receipt and we will correct the issue. If necessary, please provide photos of the unopened product so we can better understand the problem. Otherwise we do NOT accept returns. Can I mix different colors to create another colorway?

Pigments can be mixed, but keep in mind that it will work like the Color Wheel. Any color mixed with another color will effect the color change. Example, if you mix a Blue and a Yellow pigment, it may create a shade of Green, but they often end up looking a bit muddied. Different colors may also change at different times or UV wavelengths, which will effect the outcome. Testing small amounts is recommended before mixing a large batch.
